Greece’s health authorities announced 10 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Sunday evening, while no new death has been recorded in the last 24 hours. The total infections stand at 3,266.
Four of the new cases are “imported,” after tests conducted to flight passengers and new arrivals at Promachonas border crossing with Bulgaria. In addition, 3 cases are found in Rodopi, 1 in Xanthi and specifically in the municipality of Myki currently under soft lockdown, and two cases in the Prefecture of Thesprotia, western Epirus.
The two cases in Paramythia, Thesprotia add to another three, all member of a family and their friendly environment. Authorities ordered the closure of the primary education school on Monday, local media reported.
According to the Health Ministry statement on Sunday, of the total 3,266 cases, 720 (20%) are related to travel from abroad, 1,826 (55.9%) are related to an already known case. The rest are not related to travel or another known case or are still under investigation.
9 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units. Their average age is 75, among them are 2 women. 100% of the patients have underlying health issues or are over 70 years old.
117 patients have been discharged from the ICUs since the beginning of the outbreak.
Number of coronavirus -related deaths stands at 190 since the outbreak in the country in late February.
Among the deceased were 60 women (31.6%).
The average age of the deceased was 76, the overwhelming majority (100%) had underlying health issues and/or were over 70 years old.
