EU Digital Certificate for foreign nationals in Greece

Foreign nationals who have been vaccinated in Greece can now obtain the EU Digital Certificate as the state has improved the online form that now accepts foreign documents.

A friend e-mailed me on Tuesday morning that the website gov.gr now accepts data from foreign nationals.

She is a German national living in Greece. However, it should be noted that she has been vaccinated. With this said it means we are not aware whether the Certificate can be issued also for the other two purposes as stated below.

Greece activated on  June 1, the online platform for the EU Digital Green Certificate Covid-19 where citizens can obtain a confirmation that they have been either vaccinated against the coronavirus or have been tested negative with PCR test or they have recovered from Covid-19.

One needs taxisnet codes and social security number AMKA in order to access the service.

On the website of the gov.gr it is stated that if one does not have taxisnet codes, ID documents from a foreign country or any other problem in issuing the EU Digital Certificate, one should seek a Citizens’ Service Office KEP

We, my wife and I have been recovered from covid in beginning of 2020. But there was never made an entry of having covid in what kind of sytem.
Because there was at that time no PCR test. Jan/Feb 2020.
We can not get the certificate because there was never a PCR test done when we where ill.
What can we do to get it?
    We are not vaccinated.
And for now, we do not want to. What does the vaccine do with our antibodies? ???

      ask a doctor?

    • I, too, had the virus in January 2020 — when nobody knew what it was. It is far from clear scientifically, but it is likely that we will have only partial immunity by this point. My recollection is that the bureaucrats accept immunity certificates for no longer than 9 months after having had Covid-19. So, as far as they are concerned, you (and I) never had the virus!

  2. Be aware that to make an appointment online to visit a KEP office, you need to log in with your Taxisnet ID! I went anyway and explained that I was there to have documents stamped that would then allow me to get a Taixsnet ID, which I haven’t needed till now. They understood and let me in. I was pleasantly surprised.

  3. will they accept my Sputnik Vaccination? or is that too Putin to be safe?

    • I believe Sputnik will only be accepted if/when it receives EMA approval. Because the EU Green Pass aims to be accepted EU wide it is only for EMA approved vaccines.

  4. The certificate is not unique in the sense that it can be issued more than once. I had it issued this morning using my taxisnet codes and my AMKA. First I did it on my laptop and after that again on my smartphone. Two certificates were issued with different codes.
