AstraZeneca: Greece’s Vaccination Committee recommends no jab to under 60 year olds

Greece’s National Vaccination Committee strongly recommend that the AstraZeneca vaccine will not be administered to people under the age of 60, media report on Monday afternoon. The recommendation comes amid fears of rare thrombosis as more and more vaccines become available in the country.

The Commission’s recommendation is reportedly said to be based on the fact that there is now an adequacy of vaccines in Greece and it calls on the government to enable citizens to choose one of the other three vaccines.

In this context, the AstraZeneca vaccine will not be banned and anyone who wishes to do so and is over 30 years old will be able to make a vaccination appointment.

Those who have been administered the first dose of AZ will be able to do the second dose with the same vaccine.

Only those with a history of thrombosis should replace the second dose with another vaccine.

Relevant announcements are expected at the Live Briefing on Monday at 6 p.m., by the chairwoman of the National Vaccination Committee, Maria Theodoridou.

It should be noted that several EU member states have stopped the administration of AstraZeneca under a certain age – ranging fro 50 to 65 years old, limiting its use to elderly population.

  1. OKAY — so you’re happy to administer the AztraZeneca to people over 65 —– probably in the hope they will die soon (or as a result) — thereby saving the government pension pay-outs. Just what every government wants —- vaccinate the elderly first in the hope that the vaccine (of which NONE has been tested for an appropriate length of time) will kill them all off. Wasn’t that the original intention when the virus was released?
