Greece: 605 new coronavirus cases, 13 deaths, geographic distribution

Greece’s health authorities announced on Τuesday, 605 new coronavirus cases and 13 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospitals Intensive Care Units stands at 204.

The Greek government announced on Tuesday a two-tier entertainment, dining and recreation model for vaccinated and not vaccinated citizens. More details here.

The government bonus of 150 euro in form of prepaid card, an incentive to those aged 18-25 to get vaccinated, convinced only 18,000 young people who arranged an appointment. When the platform for this age group opened beginning of the month – without bonus- 80,000 young citizens registered on the first day.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 421,829 infections (daily change: +0.1%). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 85 infections are related to travel from abroad and 632 to other confirmed cases.

Rolling average: 426 (399 previous week)

51.2% of the infected are men.

There are 13 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the total of pandemic victims to 12,695.  Of these, 95.5% had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.

A total of 204 Covid-patients – from 215 a day earlier -are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 66 years. 65.7% are men. 84.3% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.

2,668 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.

33 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -15.38%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 46.

The median age of new infections is 43 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).

Of the 605 new cases, 19 were detected at the entrance gates of the country and 2 among travelers already in the country.
