EU members to accept digital Covid certificates from UK, Armenia from Oct 29

European Union member states will accept digital Covid certificates from Armenia and the United Kingdom, according to two new European Commission decisions announced on Thursday. The two countries will also recognize the EU Digital Covid Certificate.

The decisions will enter into force on Friday, October 29, 2021, Greek state news agency amna reported.

EU’s Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders said on the occasion:

“Safer travel is a reality thanks to the EU Digital COVID Certificate, which is now the leading global standard: 45 countries in four continents are connected to the system and more will follow in the coming weeks and months. We are open to other countries to join our system.”

  1. Does that mean if you fly to UK and someone on your flight is tested positive you will not have to self isolate if you have an EU Digital Certicate?

  2. Will this mean that fully vaccinated people who were vaccinated in an EU country will no longer need to isolate for 10 days in the UK if they have come into contact with someone who has tested positive?
