A racist attack against a food delivery man. He was brutally punched by the driver of a car. It was only due to passersby intervention that the worst was avoided.
The victim is a 36-year-old man, a migrant worker.
The attack took place on Monday April 22, around 10:30 in the evening, when the migrant worker was delivering a package in the area of Agios Dimitrios suburb of south Athens.
According to the complaint by the Movement against Racist & Fascist threat KEERFA, the victim was riding his motorbike, when the driver of a white Smart car with his lights off, started dangerous zig-zag line cutting his way.
When the victim shouted at him “Turn your lights on!”, the driver got out of the car and attacked the worker shouting “Come on Pakistani here to turn on my lights on? F** Pakistan, f*** your mother’s ****” and started to brutally punch the victim.
Video:
The intervention of passers-by prevented the worst, as bystanders noticed that the driver had a knife on him, according to what KEERFA reports.
Police teams on motorbikes arrived 15 minutes after the perpetrator had left. But the details of his car as well as a video were given on the spot to police already at the spot.
The delivery man filed a complaint at the Racial Violence Department of the Police.
KEERFA condemned the attack with a clearly racist motive and in an announcement it noted that the driver was obviously trained in boxing.
“This racist attack is not an isolated incident but part of a larger increase in attacks, particularly against migrant workers,” KEERFA added.
It is sad to know that such scumbags are living between us. It is worth noticing that he has some martial arts training, but his hits are powerless.
