The Culture Ministry announced on Tuesday the archaeological site of the Acropolis will likely close for several hours at the peak of the heatwave in the coming days.
“As has already been announced by the EFA of the City of Athens and by the Organization for the Management and Development of Cultural Resources due to the forecast of high temperatures for the next few days, the Archaeological site of the Acropolis may have to be closed from 12 noon to 5 pm,” the statement said.
An official announcement about the final decision of the ministry is expected soon.
Also last year, the Culture Ministry closed the Acropolis to public during the heatwave in July.
