Public transport will be heavily affected especially in the Greek capital Athens by the 24-hour general strike on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, declared by the private and public sector unions ADEDY and GSEE.
According to public transport workers’ unions, there will be two workout in the morning and the evening and so:
Buses, trolley buses and Metro Line 1 will operate from 9 am to 9 pm.
Metro Line 2 and 3 will operate 9 am to 5 pm.
Tram will operate 9 am to 8:30 pm.
Suburban train Proastiakos will operate with security personnel only and so will operate the trains of Hellenic Train.
Ferries and ships will remain docked for 24 hours as the Seamen Federation PNO announced its participation to the strike already last week.
KTEL buses will operate as usual.
Taxis and airplanes will operate as usual.
The strike is a protest against the ongoing high cost of living and the unions demand wages increases and collective bargains, more spending in health and Education and less in armament.
