A 3-year-old toddler was found dead in the swimming pool of a touristic facility in Tsilivi area on the island of Zakynthos (Zante) on Sunday afternoon.
Immediately an ambulance was called it and the body of the little boy was transferred to hospital where doctors could only confirm his death.
According to preliminary information the boy was spending vacation on Zakynthos together with his family holders of UK passports.
Later state broadcaster ERT reported that the toddler, originally from Bangladesh, was on vacation on the island with his mother, two aunts and grandparents.
The family had rented a villa.
The tragedy occurred when the child, under unclear circumstances, found himself in the pool while the rest of the family members were inside the villa and were preparing to go out for unch.
When the family searched for the child, they found him unconscious in the pool.
The news of the tragedy has shocked the local community, while authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
