The board of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) on Thursday informed National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias, in a letter, that it has unanimously agreed to his request that reservists should be paid their daily wages as normal on the days they participate in further training, as part of the planned Active Reserve system.
According to a defense ministry announcement, the letter is signed by SEV Chairman Spyros Theodoropoulos and follows a meeting with Dendias held on June 26, in which Dendias and the chiefs of the army and armed forces, respectively, briefed the board on the major changes planned for the institution of the Reserve, asking for their active support.
The defense minister will continue to have meetings with other employer and industry associations to gather support for the Active Reserve, the ministry press release said.
