Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis condemned the attack at the Hilton hotel during the White House correspondents’ dinner attended by U.S. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and members of his administration.


“The attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is a stark reminder that violence has no place in democracy,” Mitsotakis said on a post on X adding:
“It’s a relief that @POTUS, the First Lady and all attendees are safe, but such incidents can never be tolerated. Protecting democratic institutions is non-negotiable.”.

The attacker was a 31-year-old white man, a teacher. He was heavyly armed.
One guard was injured.
The shooting happened on the level above the ballroom where the White House Correspondents Association dinner was.
