It was shortly before 11 o’ clock, just minutes before the beginning of the military parade, when members of far-right group Chrysi Avgi (Golden Dawn) chanting racist slogans attacked according to one source street vendors selling Greek flags, according to another source immigrants who were passing by. A third source seems to put the information fragments together and reports that the attacks were against Pakistanis who were selling Greek flags.
The attackers used rafters and their fists against the street vendors. The incident took place outside the Hotel “Grande Bretagne” at Syntagma Square. A strong police force guarding the parade could not prevent the attacks though. There have not been any reports about detentions…
