A horse without rider galloping through the streets of a city? Impossible! A concerned citizen who saw the horse wandering around in the streets of Patras, Western Peloponnese, alarmed the police. A traffic policeman was sent to the spot to deal with the case.
Unable to find any other solution – like calling an animal welfare society, a vet or anyone more responsible for the horse – the traffic policeman issued a fine of 20 euro.
“Vehicle date” replaced with “Horse data” (dete.gr)
However the fine was not handed out to the horse.
Authorities identified the owner some hours later and gave him the bill for letting his horse go …shopping.
