Greece’s health authorities announce don Sunday evening, another 75 new confirmed coronavirus cases and two more deaths. The total infections increased to 4,661 and the death toll to 208.
The number of new cases in relatively high for a Sunday where traditionally fewer tests are being conducted. The ration with Saturday -110 new cases by 9,600 tests- is 75 new cases by 5,900 tests in the last 24 hours. Consequently, the number of new infections would be higher today if the same number of tests as on Saturday would have been conducted.
The majority of new cases have been again located in Thessaloniki and Kavala, northern Greece, and in Attica. The virus has spread in more regional units across the country.
Despite the cases surge in the last days, the government and the imposition of new restrictions , the Shipping Ministry increased on Sunday the capacity on ships and ferries to 80% and 85% from 60% and 65%.

The new 75 new cases on Saturday have been detected:
4 at the entry points in Greece.
5 more travellers voluntarily sought laboratories for Covid-19 test in the country after they developed some symptoms. They were tested positive.
The remaining new cases are spread across in 16 regional units:
19 in Attica -3 of them are related to the positive case in the Water Polo National Team.
15 in Thessaloniki- 4 of them are related to the wedding party in Thessaloniki, a week ago.
13 in Kavala – 11 of them are related to the meat procession factory in the city that had 34 infections in total in 75 conducted tests.

Each 1 in Arkadia, Imathia, Ioannina, Kastoria, Corfu, Kozani, Corinth, Pieria, Chania (Crete)
Among the new cases is one player of PAOK FC, Alpha TV reported.
Media report that 4 soldiers in a military camp in Volos have been tested positive. The soldiers aged 20-29, are to be transferred to a military hospital in Thessaloniki. The cases are not listed in the Geographi distribution on Sunday.

According to the Health Ministry statement on Sunday, the daily growth from Saturday to Sunday is 1.6%
54.8% of the total of infected are men.
Of the total coronavirus cases, 1,290 (27.7%) are related to travel abroad, 2,308 (49.5%) are related to an already known case. The rest are cases not related to travel or another known case or are still under investigation.
Average age of the infected in 49 with age range between 0 and 102.
The rolling average number of infections in the last 7 days is 67 from 28 last Sunday, July 26.
Number of patients intubated in ICUs increased to 12 from 10 on Saturday. Among them are two women. Average age of the intubated patients is 64.
66.7% of intubated patients had underlying health issues and age over 70 years.
128 patients have been discharged from the ICUs since the beginning of the outbreak.
Number of coronavirus-related deaths increased to 208.
Among the deceased were 67 women. The average age of the deceased was 76 with range age between 35 and 102.
95.7% had underlying health issues and/or were over 70 years old.
