Confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece remain high also on Thursday, 3,491 new coronavirus infections Another 67 people died in the last 24 hours and the number of Covid-19 patients in ventilators increased to 755, health authorities announced.
Death toll has reached 8,160. Total confirmed infections since the begin of the pandemic 267,172.

Greece’s pharmaceutical regulator (EOF) said on Thursday that the death of a 63-year-old woman in Athens on Wednesday shortly after receiving a dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine “does not appear to be linked to the vaccination,” as the woman had a serious underlying health problems.
EOF said it is expecting a full forensic report on the pathological findings.
An autopsy conducted on the woman on Wednesday showed that her death was caused by pulmonary edema, the medical examiner said.

According to the official bulletin on Thursday, based on the confirmed cases on the last 7 days, 98 are related to travel abroad and 2927 are related to already known cases.
The released data do not allow any more the clues about the rate of infections without known source of contamination.

The number of intubated coroinavirus patients stands at 755 from 739 a day earlier. Their average age is 68, among them 64.5% are men. 82.9% have underlying health problems and/or are aged over 70.
New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals are 561 (daily change +17.12%) in the last 24 hours. Average number of hospital admissions in 7 days: 448.
Average age of infected is 44 ( age range 0.2-105).
1717 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 67 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 8,160. The average age of the deceased was 79 (age range 16-103). and 95.7% had underlying health problem and/or was over 70 years old.

I really cannot understand why there is such a large amount i.e. 666 cases of Covid-19 on Mount Athos when it is a closed community. There must be an awful lot of monks there. It is only a placed visited by the male population so something is drastically wrong!!
