Travelers without booster after 7 months subject to same restrictions as Greeks, says official

When in Greece, behave like a Greek! Secretary General for Primary Health Care, Marios Themistokleous clarified on Monday evening that also the European Digital Vaccination Certificate will have an expiration time of seven months when the travelers are in Greece. They will therefore be subject of the same restrictions as the Greeks, who have not received the booster shot seven months after the two doses of vaccination against Covid-19.

Themistokleous made the clarification during the Live Briefing broadcast by ERT TV on the course of the vaccination program in Greece. The clarification was necessary as Greece accepts for travelers the 9-month validity of the European Digital Vaccination Certificate , however, only for traveling into the country.

The clarification came as those without booster shot seven months after the full vaccination with two doses will be considered as “unvaccinated” from Monday, February 7, 2022.

Like the real “unvaccinated” citizens, those over 18 years old without the booster shot (details in the link) will not be allowed into the indoor spaces of restaurants, cafes, entertainment venues, gyms, cinemas, theaters and museums.

It is not clear for how long this measure will be in force, however, everyone expects it to be lifted once the number of daily deaths, intubations and cases is significantly decreased, there is no new dangerous Covid-19 variant around and the tourist season is about to open.
