Femicide: 35-year-old woman found dead in Larissa home; partner on the run

Femicide Greece: A 35-year-old woman was found dead with a blow to the head and wrapped in a blanket in her home in Larissa, central Greece, on Friday morning. The body was discovered after neighbors complained about stench coming out of the apartment. Police is searching for the victim’s partner, a man from Pakistan.

The body was in advanced decomposition and initially police officers suggested it was death due to pathological causes, reports local media onlarissa.gr.

However, preliminary examination revealed that the victim was hit on the head with a sharp object.

A local coroner told media, the victim was dead at least six days.

The victim was living together with her partner, a man from Pakistan, who seems to have “disappeared”.

Authorities are searching for the man as the main suspect of the murder. They suspect, however, that the man has already left the country.

According to Skai TV, the victim had complained in the past about incidents of domestic violence.

The local society is shocked about the heinous murder.

The woman in Larissa is the 11th victim of femicide in Greece since the beginning of 2022, while over 20 women were killed by current or previous partners a year earlier.
