Tempi rallies in 380 cities in Greece and abroad (a guide)

From Orestiada in North-Eastern Greece to Zanzibar, to South Korea and Japan, to northern Iceland and the remote island of Agios Efstratios, thousands of people will shout “I Have No Oxygen” and pay a minimum tribute to the memory of the 57 victims of the train tragedy in Tempi on 28. February 2023.

In over 380 cities in Greece and abroad, thousands of people will demand immediate Justice for the victims.

People in 260 in Greek cities and in 120 cities abroad will join their voices and protest delays in investigation and attempts of cover-up.

They all follow the call by the president of the Association of Victims’ Relatives “Tempi 2023“, Maria Karystianou, on citizens, associations, unions and organizations to take to the streets on Friday, February 28, for the day of remembrance of the Tempi crime, the second painful anniversary.

“The blackest anniversary of our lives is approaching. The night that corruption killed our children. And in order not to be exposed, it continues to ruthlessly KILL them, “scamming” along the way with whatever will justify their souls. 28/02/2025 is a MEMORY day. It is the day that peacefully pushes us onto the streets for JUSTIFICATION of ALL the souls who were sacrificed and for the PURIFICATION that will give oxygen to Greece.”

They all responded to her call and declared a general 24-hour strike in Greece with a huge mobilization.

The slogan “I Have No Oxygen” is a phrase snap from the desperate cry for help by a crash survivor who called the Emergency Line “112” right after the collision of the passenger train with the freighter. The passenger sadly died a few minutes later due to the explosion and a sweeping fire that followed the crash.
